Midlife Crisis Update

No. 8 – Lip Pierced at Blue Banana. Why oh why did I do it. Coz I wanted too! It does not need to be any more complicated than that. Had a bit of fun too boot, and of course (as my brother pointed out) I will have hours of painful fun trying to drink coke from a can whilst avoiding the lip bar. When I get the chance I will upload a photo (or five) of the offending item for everyone to see and laugh.

mid life crisis – how many has it been?

I was wondering today exactly how many mid life crisis have I had yet, and how many more will I have before I have to admit I am no longer middle aged.

OK – first midlife crisis was when I started work after 12 years of unemployment.  I could of called it rediscovering my pride, but hey.  It was a quick moment outside the kitchen in SCVS, Sarah Bower helped to re-open one of my piercings in my ear.

No.2 – My eye bar, a few months later after pay day, a screaming moment in Di the Pies Parlour

No. 3 – The top of my ear was in need of piercing when I successfully got the next job with SCVS. Not as glamourous as Di the Pie,  Swansea Jewellerys to be exact.

No. 4 – 38th Birthday (or just after) – My first tattoo at Skin & Ink

No. 5 – The Bandana – No more needs to be said really

No 6 – A year and a month later – My second tattoo at Skin & Ink

No. 7 – Ear stretching – What a fool I am

I wonder what will be my next midlife crisis – A lip piercing maybe, or another tattoo, mmmmm

Ouch!

My ear hurts mammy……..

I think I might of ran before I could walk.  I put the 2mm stretcher in my ear on Saturday and then upped it to the 3mm on Sunday and put the 2mm in the other hole in my ear.  Now it hurts like holy hell and I look like I got cauliflower ear, typical.

So I downsized back to the 2mm and am only doing one hole for the next couple of days.  I will buy another 2mm on Thursday and just try that for a bit.

Once I am completely comfortable with 2 ‘2mm’ then I will put the 3mm back in.  And just quietly enlarge them over the next several months until I am on something like 5mm and 4mm.

I am sure this is some silly attempt at becoming some sort of rocker, but hey who gives a frack.

A better day today by far….

I found a bigger shovel today to help dig me out of the hole that I seem to be in of late.  Its a metaphoric shovel but hey, who cares.

I spent most of the day with my son, Ieuan, just the two of us.  went swimming in Penlan with him and he actually statted swimming quite well on his back without any aid at all.  He did half lengths of the pool, first on his back, then on his front (with a flotation device).  Overall I think I tired him out (ggod).  After swimming it was off to town to spend money on christmas presents for people (Still need to buy cards though for like a million peps).  By the time we got back to the car it was getting dark again, and considering we left  in the morning at about 9am, thats a long day.

I bought myself something new as well, I reckon it should help improve my hearing capabilties or at least let me tune in to ‘Jazz FM’.

Yes its a spike growing in my ear, actually its one of those things that people use to enlarge the hole in their ears so they can put bigger things in there.  Honestly folks I am not going to have 12mm flesh tunnels by the new year. 

I was just curious and thought I would give it a go and maybe work on some 4-5mm stuff.  At least it will give me options to what I can put in my ear instead of the same old stuff I have always had there.  However I am seriously thinking of having my lower lip pierced, just trying to decide on one or two. 

I quite like the idea of one in the middle, some sort of curled spike/tusk growing out of the middle of my beard.

A few other things………

I took up Kung-Fu a few weeks ago and now consider it agression therapy, cool, I pay £3 to beat lumps out of my brother, who could ask for more – Actually I love my brother dearly (just never tell him, OK! – he might think I am gay or sumit).

I also decided to update my wieght loss online so that I have something in writing as it were.  I have been hiding behind 6 weeks on inactivity as far as my weight loss has been going, and I have been refusing to do something about it, hopefully that will change soon.

another late night moment

I am once again sitting here in the early hours of the morning (or late hours of the night) wondering about life and all those other really important things that we are suppose to frett about.  And I can honestly say that after 39 years on this planet I still do not have a clue as to what I am suppose to be doing and why.  Which probably means I am very wise, realising that I actually know very little, ha!

OH well back to my music……
