44 inches (I wish)
January 30, 2008
Went to tescos yesterday, just before youth club to finally try on the largest ‘off the peg’ jeans that they sell, 44 inch waist. I carefully selected three different styles of jeans and then treid them all on (in the cubicle of course) They all fitted, although the last one was with some purple faced effort, but they all managed to all stay on me without exploding.
So considering that my present pair of jeans is 56 inches (and were comfy even when I was at my largest) and that 44 inches is still a little tight, I reckon I am probably around 45 inch waist, down from a probable 55 inch waist. So not too shabby
Another weight loss update
January 29, 2008
Well I know its a day late, but this is for yesterday, I was just busy yesterday doing other stuff to actually post this up.
Well I was so focussed on achieving one of my mini targets that in the end I went to Tesco to make it an official ‘weigh in’ as it were, as the scales were just jumping all over the place, so like before I weighted myself and my clothes and determined that the clothes (and trainers and jewelery) all came to 5.5lb. So when I went to Tesco I weighted in at (before clothing allowance) 21st 4.5lb, which means that I am now officially in the 20 stone zone, as in 20st 13lb, WOOHOOOOO…….
However, it has been a somewhat extreme 3 weeks, with an average weight loss of 5lb a week over the last 3 weeks, not really advisable. So I think I will be a little bit less intense for the next few pounds and maybe aim for 3.5lb a week which still gives me a 14lb (stone) loss per month.
To be honest I know what I am like, and I understand how I can fixate over certain things for a couple of weeks, so I doubt I will get too carried away over the long term with this extreme weight loss, I will calm down, but for now, its not hurting me really, and I am enjoying the fact that it is coming off, a good confidence boost.
So see you all next week, here at weight loss central, lol
Love to everyone
Stim Drinks and the 3rd Night Shift
January 24, 2008
After chatting with some young people I decided to try a stimulation drink to keep me more alert nearer the end of my 10 hour shifts, or at least have it as a backup in case I need it.
Ha……Have you tried doing sudoku on a stim drink, I could not write the numbers down fast enough, and I was practically bouncing off the walls by the time I finished my shift. Although overall it was certainly better than being half dozey.
Next time I think I will only drink half the bottle, and then only when my head starts nodding, not when I am just a little thirsty.
It also took me ages to calm down enough to get to sleep when I got home…..
I am now off for the next 8 days so no nights for a while

The Ice Witch and the Shaman
January 22, 2008
Here is a little poem that, for whatever reasons, has been lurking around in my head all day trying to get out. Please enjoy it……
The Ice Witch and the Shaman
His breath escaped in a cloud of misty air,
As he walked determined through the forest fair
Furs wrapped tight against the biting cold
Staff held grimly to steady his steps so bold
The village had despaired when first the frost had lingered
Whole crops threatened and the animals feed in ruin
The elders claimed that their gods were angered
Then sent a brave young warrior to seek him out
The shaman after commune declared that he would journey
To find the blight’s source that had left all in turmoil
He promised the village that his skill would be a certain match
To conquer the powers which stood to gain from this ordeal
The setting out had been two nights hence
The shaman now stood before a stream of crystal glass
Agog with wonder at the great trees and flowers
Which stood in frozen silver delight, toes dipped in the stream so bright
The cold bit deeper as he traveled onwards
Until with frost bitten fingers and shuddering breath
He at last looked upon the glacial cave
The hidden palace of ice soon discovered within
Eyes failing he looked upon the beauty within
Crawling deeper, obsessed with the source
Until, finally, with a seeming dying breath
His hand, staff forgotten, touched the throne of light
At last the frigid darkness overcame his mind
As his last breath finally released from his chest
Her alabaster fingers gently touched his brow
Silver and white tendrils slowly encased his skin
She looked down upon the shaman, asleep
Eyes full of pity, stared, bemused
What to do with such as he
The Ice witch did not presume to dare
Three moons passed as she stood and watched
Her power slowly fading, melting away
She kissed his brow as he started to stir
His last visage, her fading away with a certain smile
As he journeyed back, his mission complete
He could not shake those whispering words
The Ice witch’s voice almost musical to hear
Had promised ‘I will return soon my love’
The Kilvey Shaman
(Obviously dedicated to the Ice Witch)
another weight loss update
January 21, 2008
people must be getting fed up of these, but its for my benefit not theirs so…….
Another loss of 1.5 lb since a few days ago which works out at another 4.5 lb since last Monday, so 9lb in 2 weeks. I did not realise until I updated the chart that that makes me 299lb, which means that I am now in the two hundreds instead of the three hundreds, silly, I know, but it does mean something.
To date my weight loss has been 58lb since last February, thats one of the really big sacks of spuds and still 2lb to spare, now that is scary coz if I carried that around on my shoulders all day I would be absolutely knackered, and yet I used to do just that
The silver tie
January 21, 2008
OK, so here is the legendary silver tie, although to be honest it does not work in a close up photo like this, but self-photos tend to be, at most, arms length, so always a bit awkward to do full body shots. Perhaps if I can find someone else to take the photo for me I can put a better one up in time, but for now, enjoy

A poem of memories
Just moments ago it seems when first I met this little girl
Just yesterday, waiting for her mother, almost shy she seemed
Each year that has passed I have marveled and wondered
every moment proud of who she became
Since then she has blossomed to become a woman unique
Sure and strong , determined and proud
So where is that girl that once I knew,
still there, of course, just look in her eyes
(And when I close my eyes, I still see
that blue sweatered girl waiting for her mam)

Weekly Love for January 14, 2008
January 20, 2008
If you have love on your mind, the stars are here to help — especially this Wednesday and Thursday. Now’s the time to go out on a romantic limb: Ask a certain question of a certain someone. Let a feeling be known. Feel them out about an idea. You get the picture! On Monday and Tuesday, though, be sure you look very, very carefully before you do any leaping, romancewise. Communication requires extra thought and interpretation on Friday and Saturday. However, on Sunday, you’re just plain hot — so how about a hot brunch date?
Well ok I have been thinking a hell of a lot about things this last week, especially early on in the week. As far as putting out feelers, ok just a day later that it says, Saturday, nothing, so now its all waitinf for today, Sunday, apparantly I am going to be smokin……..

the silver tie
January 19, 2008
there was I, sitting in my house, when suddenly inspiration hit me, so I hit him back, then kicked him while he was down.
However, after that I thought about dressing up a little bit for my sister-in-law, who invited me up for tea.
I chose to wear a silver tie, along with my black shirt, black jeans, black trainers and all my jewelry.
Well I did say that I was going to dress up just a little bit.
I think it actually worked too, wearing it at half mast and lose, it looked quite casual and worked with the black theme too.
