Another weight update

March 31, 2008

Today I weighed in at tesco at 19st 9lb. a total loss of 82lb since Febuary 2007.

Well the last few days have seen me almost non-existent on the internet, simply because I have been preoccupied with other matters.

Last Thursday I met someone……

Since then its been a blur.  Thursday through to Sunday have merged into one, leaving me all fluffy.

When I can get my head around it all I will talk in more detail but for now, I am loved and in love and curious as to where it will lead…..

Loving you all, as always

G&G

Well yesterday I went up Kilvey hill with my son Ieuan.  Overall I feel that we both had an enjoyable 4 1/2 hours walking around, down, up, along, through and under most of the things on the hill.  To be  honest I doubt there was a part of the public area of the hill we did not walk over.
Here is a pictorial representation of the journey for you all to appreciate.

these first four photos are of a place locally known as Martin’s pond.  I feel the way the sun catches the very first photo makes it a great picture.

This is part of the way up the hill along part of the well known mountain bike track

A quick glimpse of the aerials at the top of Kilvey, showing us both that there is still a fair walk to go.

A few photos of the view from the top of the hill, something everyone in Swansea should at least look at once in their lives.

This one photo of my son was taken from the top of a mound that was once a windmill on the hill.

Then the journey back down the hill started, first visiting the great throne

And then the legendary ‘Green Man’ of Kilvey Hill.  When I looked upon this statue for the first time in ages I actually gasped in pleasant surprise when I saw the wonderful condition that the statue was in.  I am sure that Pete would be smiling.

Then it was down to the Viking boat, which unfortunately has not faired so well, with most of the boat destroyed, except for the figurehead

Then it was a quick double back to the stone circle, which still brings a smile to my face every time I visit it.

Heading on our final stretch down the hill towards the Archway we bumped into the totem pole, an object that I rarely get a chance to see.

And then finally finishing at the archway, which is regarded by some as the entrance to the hill.

I hope you all enjoyed this pictorial journey as much as I and Ieuan enjoyed the real thing.

Loving you all

Swansea Activa

March 14, 2008

As a treat to myself today, I set up a direct debit with the council to pay monthly for the use of sports facilities in the Swansea area, so now I can go to the gym or swimming whenever I want too, and being as I am a council employee I got it with discount too, lol.  So for £20 a month I get to use sports facilities as often as I want too.  And knowing how tight I am, I will make sure I get the most out of it.

Oh and I am now officially 19 stone something instead of 20 stone something, yeah for me, only 69.9lb to go to 15 stone, OMG…….

Before I go any further I want to say thanks, thanks to everyone that has, over the last 13 months, put up with my constant updates and conversations about my progress, both good and bad.  In particular I would like to thank Jan (The Icewitch) for her vocal support and constant encouragement with her comments.

OK so why am I posting today, well for one I am bored senseless, so thought I would blog (well at least I am honest), for two, I am so close to the 20st milestone that I set for my birthday that I can taste it and its killing me having to wait till tomorrow when I got money, to go to tesco’s to weigh in.  I know I weigh at home like 20 times a day (well nearly) but the one in tesco’s has been the baseline all the way through this and it also weights a whole 1lb lighter than the one at home.

Now I just weighed like 5 minute ago and I weighed in at 20st 0.9lb on the one in the kitchen, so tomorrow should by rights be a golden time for me.

Some of the things I have been noticing over the past few weeks in general: more energy, greater range of movement, happier, thinner in the face, arms, legs and chest (I cannot see my arse), I can cross my legs, kick higher, I have a lap now, tie my own laces (while still on my feet).

Also, whether its because I am thinner, or whether its because I am generally smiling a hell of a lot more, women are noticing me, now I am not on about major league here, but the comments are coming in, and I am listening, and in response my flirt levels have risen accordingly, maybe its just a confidence thing (or maybe I am just delusional)

So tomorrow will be a good day (thinking positive, lol), and maybe by my birthday I will be below 19 stone (or lower)  instead of my original target of below 20 stone.

So heres to general good health for everyone, and heres to Jan for all her encouragement….

Loving you all

I literally just found out that Gary died last week.  This one man is probably one of the greatest influences on my life to date.  Although I never met him, I read much of his work and have been influenced heavily by his greatest creation, Dungeons & Dragons.  The world of creativity is lessened by his loss.

Well last night a friend of mine, Lisa, popped over, originally she was hoping to go to the cinema, but I had just spent out in town and also had Ieuan for the weekend, so I turned it into a movie night in.  So just guess which films we watched (Cheesy levels rising) -  Short Circuit and Short Circuit 2.  They were so much fun – Number 5 is alive…….

So wot did we do after that, went on Google Earth for a little bit and then listened to loud music, mostly from the 80’s as well, and unfortunately sang along to them, both of us knowing most of the words.  We both knew Electric Dreams, I knew some ‘Fame’ songs (sad init) and Lisa sang along to some songs from ‘Streets of Fire’, which had a strong Bonnie Tyler / Meat Loaf influence, echoes of ‘I need a hero’ are still in my head, lol….

Not bad for two kids from the 80s and not even a drop of alcohol in sight.

So here is to having a good time, and loving you all

March 8, 2008

I weighed yesterday in tesco, and again today, after clubbing last nite and there is like a loss of 3lb – so all I can say is I LOVE vodka…..

I now weigh 20st and 1.6lb, so close to the 20st mark that its annoying really, oh and I am past half way on the chart now so the wieght left to lossis now less than what I have already lost, now that is just amazing…..

I still love you all, lol

Well lets just say a lot has changed in the last 20 years.  For one these young pups that I went out with are a bunch of light weights, lol

I went to town, and met up in the Hanburry, then it was off to the Loft and then Crowleys and finally to Sin City.  Anna went home at the Hanburry and Kate at Crowleys, so it was me and Gron onward to Sin City (I met Gron at the hanburry, thank gawd, or I would of been on my own from Crowleys.  The music was loud and good, in all the pubs and sin city, except the loft which was crap music and crap atmosphere, but nice looking bar staff (am sure she was trying to chat me up).

One observation, are people a lot more comfortable about body contact nowadays, as there seemed a few extra cuddles, kisses and caresses (of which I gave and received) or is it I was just a prude when I grew up.

The last two hours or so in Sin City I was solo cruising, just enjoying the music and the occasional company.  Eventually I got home and in bed by 4.30am and almost sober……why?

Loving you all

The weather for today

March 5, 2008

Well we have been having a lot of’ high’ the last week or so, suddenly though this depression has just come in from nowhere…….

In other words, I am feeling a little bit down and withdrawn today, must be my time of the month???

My so-called date for last night cancelled, but then it was only an informal one, so I should not of expected much, however I am still planning to go out to Sin City this Friday night, so heres for the hope of a good time.

I am also working tonight and tomorrow night so am looking forward to working with the residents, for some reason I just cannot be in a bad mood when I am around them.

One piece of advice for everyone……The world is full of people that use other people, thats how we survive, get used to it, accept it, otherwise you will just drive yourself insane.  We are only good to have around when people need us for something, even if its just company, when people no longer want that something then we become an inconvenience to them…..so either get used to it or make yourself damn useful to as many people as possible , or become a hermit
